History of BCUMC

Originally established in 1977, Bear Creek was recognized as the fastest growing United Methodist congregation in the United States during the early 1980s. The Room to Grow program provided significant support for the congregation as the Holy Spirit moved in the hearts and lives of people within the community, and in the 1990s the congregation was able to return these blessings by becoming the largest Room to Grow contributor.

Our former Senior Pastors:  Rev. Dow Harleston, Rev. Randy Mullikin, Rev. Bob Long, Dr. Jack Albright, Dr. Pat Sparks, Dr. Allison Cambre, and Dr. Burt Palmer have left quite a legacy for our current Lead Pastor, Dr. Jonathan Bynum.  With education, worship, and other facilities to support emergency relief and recreational activities, God has blessed this congregation and given it a vision of turning strangers into friends, friends into family, and family into saints of God.
