Welcome to Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Houston TX 77084

Adult Ministries/Sunday School

Sunday School
Sunday school is an important facet of the Church’s life. But it’s not just for the kids! Adults have a great time, too. In the smaller group, friendships are formed and relationships are built. As busy as we all are, when we commit an hour per week for worship and another hour for study on Sunday, it can make such a difference in the rest of our week! But just like everything else we do, it takes a first step! Remember the old saying, “Try it, you’ll like it!?” It really applies to Sunday school.

Agape
Meets in Family Life Center (FLC) Room 101 at 9:45am - The Agape Sunday School Class is made up of people of all ages. There are retired couples, working singles and widows. Approximately ten to twenty attend each Sunday. Bob Clapp is the teacher. When Bob is away others in the class fill in for him. It is a discussion format and all the class members take part in the “lively” discussions.

If you are looking for a Sunday School Class that is friendly, supportive, compassionate and loves to study God’s word, come check us out. I don’t think you will be disappointed. We have been around as long as Bear Creek United Methodist Church.

This very interactive, friendly and interesting class participates in many church projects and hosts monthly social events. A pot of coffee is always brewing. There is a place for you; join in the wonderful fellowship of a large extended family.

Hope for the Family

Our group is made up of adults: singles and married couples, thirty-something and older in age, some knowledgeable, but all willing to learn about Christ and the church. We have regular social events and excellent Sunday morning lessons. We spend an hour studying topics ranging from prayer to Methodism to the Bible. Class leaders are Teresa Nounou and Joyce Evans.

Seeker’s
Meets in ASBURY 1 at 9:45am - The Seeker’s class is a group of couples and singles, both young and old. Some have little children, some have big children and some don't have children. Some are accused of being children themselves! The class is usually taught by members but we sometimes have speakers as well. Our format is “feed and teach” as breakfast is provided each week and shared during class. Typical study topics focus on Bible lessons or history, family issues, marriage enrichment or current events. Studies are either video-based with Bible lessons or book studies; most come with a curriculum to follow, making it easy for those gifted as teachers. Members lift up prayer concerns and share in group prayer each week. We send out weekly emails to the class about prayer concerns or praises to keep everyone informed in case they weren't able to attend that week. We acknowledge that everyone is at a different place in their faith journey and respect that – everyone is welcome! Class leaders are Matt Musil and Ann Contreras.   ~ Join us in April as we start the study 3:16, The Numbers of Hope by Max Lucado.

Come join us for an hour of fellowship and learning. Class leader is Susan Hilton.
