Fall Craft Bazaar

The Fall Craft Bazaar was held on Saturday, October 19, 2013. The target charity for 2013 is Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition, whose mission is to rescue victims of Human Trafficking. The UMW members have already been active in the war on human trafficking by helping out at Freedom Place, a new facility for the temporary housing of girls rescued from slavery. We feel that this human trafficking issue is a growing problem right here in our community, and we want to do what we can to make a difference.

Dear Bear Creek,

The United Methodist Women would like to thank everyone who helped make our 25th Annual Craft Bazaar another HUGE SUCCESS with your prayers, your presence and your gifts. We thankfully re-ceived your generous donations of water bottles, desserts and of course, your time with volunteering. We had about 145 adult and youth volunteers helping on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, includ-ing students from local high schools.

We were blessed with a beautiful day, the turnout was fantastic and by all accounts, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food and shopping from a wide variety of vendor booths. The vendors were impressed with the spirit of hospitality with which they were re-ceived and with the invaluable assistance from all the volunteers, including the United Methodist Men and Boy Scouts. We sold out of desserts from the Sweet Shoppe, almost all the food from Jacob’s Grille, and the Silent Auction items.
The income from this year’s event brought in approximately $12,000! After expenses, we will be able to give assistance to the various missions and ministries that we support each year, including our partner charity for 2013, Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition.

God bless you, Bear Creek!
