Congratulations Summer Readers
What an exciting summer of welcoming over sixty children to our church for our summer reading programs. Each week in the months of June and July the Bear Creek UMC Library welcomed children from our church and community for stories, songs, activities, and a chance to earn awards for reading. Our storyteller was Ms. Deana Avalos and we celebrated with a pizza party at the end of the programs.
Thirty-one of the younger Butterfly Readers earned prizes, certificates and read 3,620 books. The prizes winners for most books read are:
Gabriel Davis – 450 books
Nolan Davis – 450 books
Noah Jones – 320 books
Finley Jones – 280 books
Ten of the first through sixth grade Grasshopper Readers earned prizes, certificates and read 321 hours. The prize winners for most hours spent reading are:
Sophia Diaz – 78 hours
Ximena Diaz – 78 hours
McKenzie Rogers – 54 hours
