Bear Creek United Methodist Church has a vital music ministry, and we always welcome new members in any of our choirs. Are you a shower singer? Do you really open up and wail when you sing along with your car radio? Then consider singing in the Chancel Choir. The choir is open to any interested and committed adults and high school age singers (who have choral experience).

Chancel Choir

This group sings year round with a rehearsal break during parts of July and August. The Chancel Choir is the primary choir for the 11am service held in the Sanctuary. Occasionally, a small ensemble comprised of Chancel Choir members will provide music for the 9:30am traditional worship service. In addition, this choir will make two to three major presentations per year accompanied by a full orchestra. The group meets at 10:30am on Sunday mornings for warm-up and is open to all adults, college-age young people and high school youth (provided they are active in the Youth Choir). This group rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9pm in the Choir Room. Nursery care is available.

KidzROCK Choir

One of the great benefits our church offers is a quality music program for children, called KidzROCK.

KidzROCK is for children ages 4 years through 5th grade. We meet on Monday afternoons from 4:15 to 5:45pm. KidzROCK begins with playground and snack time from 4:15 - 4:45 pm, which allows for variations in school schedules. Rehearsal begins at 4:45pm in the Choir Room and continues for one hour. Each semester we present a musical, and sing during worship services on selected Sunday mornings.

Handbells - Grace Ringers

Bear Creek Bells is a four to five octave handbell choir consisting of 13-15 experienced ringers. Prior musical reading is essential. This group rings, on average, once a month during the worship services in the Sanctuary throughout the school year. This group rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15pm in the Groom's Room in the back of the Sanctuary.

The Grace Ringers are looking for high school age students or adults to join their handbell ensemble. Ability to ready music is a prerequisite, but previous ringing experience is not required.

Faith Matters Band; Contemporary Worship

Faith Matters is a dynamic, upbeat worship experience featuring contemporary Christian music.  In this casual worship service you'll hear a relevant message to help you discover abundant life in an often complicated world.  We combine prayer, Scripture, music, drama, and multi-media presentations alongside traditional rituals such as communion to create an atmosphere where you will connect with God within a joyful community of faith.

The music at Faith Matters is enhanced by guitar (bass, electric, acoustic), keyboard, flute, violin, percussion, harmonica, vocals and more. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall.  If you are an instrumentalist or vocalist who is interested in sharing your talents in a contemporary worship venue, please contact Bobbie Maltas.

The Faith Matters Band leads the contemporary worship service that takes place at 11am in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings.

We welcome and encourage children in worship, however nursery is available if you prefer.

Womens' Ensemble

This group is primarily designed for college and adult ladies. They sing, on average, twice per month during the school year. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings in the Choir Room from 6:15 to 6:45pm. Nursery care is provided.
