Below is a list of Sports and Fitness activities that are happening at Bear Creek UMC.

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

2008 Upward Basketball & Cheerleading League

Upward is a Christian based instructional league specifically designed for kindergarten through eighth grade boys and girls and features equal teams, equal playing time, post-game awards, and much more! In Upward, all participants have the opportunity to develop their character and self-esteem through healthy competition. Practices and games are each limited to one hour per week. Registration begins each September and the season wraps up in early March. Contact Juliana Mazurkewicz at 281-463-2330 x119 for more information.

Another successful Upward Basketball and Cheerleading season has come to a close. Awards night was exciting and entertaining with over 500 guests entertained by Darren Collins, a juggler, illusionist, and all-around funny guy. The hilarious, Christ-centered program, Did you see that?, brought the house down. Thank you to all the basketball and cheer coaches, referees, scorekeepers, devotion leaders, and prayer partners. It takes at least 100 volunteers to run this program and you answered the call. God bless you for the gift of your time and the blessings of your kindness.

HIM (Health in Motion)

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 8:15-9:15am in the FLC gym

This is a low impact, variety-type movement exercise class beneficial for injury recover, seniors and those who would like to lose a little weight or just tone up. Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes and non-marking athletic shoes.

Mat Pilates Class

Mondays, 6 to 7pm
$5/class or pre-pay $25/6 classes

Men's Softball

Adults 18 yrs and older, $40

Bear Creek UMC has two teams; Team #11 lead by Gary Heath and Team #14 lead by Dave Gray. We are affiliated with the Katy Area Christian Softball League. All games are at Cullen Park on Monday nights. If you are interested in joining, contact Chris Smith at 281-463-2330 x117.
