Youth, remember VBS? Be part of the fun, be of service!

The Children’s Ministry needs youth helpers to help make this summer’s Vacation Bible School EVEREST: Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power a huge success! VBS is scheduled for June 22-25, from 9:00am to noon.

shelby-gardner

Congratulations to Shelby Gardner!

Shelby has been accepted to Texas Youth Academy this summer! She’ll spend two weeks, July 5-18, at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas with 40 other senior high students from across our conference. The students will spend time each day learning from seminary professors about the Christian faith. Each day will be patterned by worship, scripture, study, small groups, service projects, art, and communion. Please be in prayer for Shelby and the other students who will be attending this life-changing experience. And don’t forget to congratulate Shelby!

District Camp 2015

We are excited to announce that Bear Creek UMC will be sending 40 children and youth to District Camp at Lakeview this June! In addition, 11 adults will be serving as camp leaders and counselors. Please be in prayer for all who will be attending this incredible week of worship, discipleship, and lots of fun.

BEAR CREEK YOUTH OUTREACH

summer-service

This summer, our youth have several opportunities to serve others in our community! Save the date for:

  • Wacky Wednesday, June 10, 10:00am-1:00pm
  • Vacation Bible School, June 22-25, 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Library Reading Program, Mondays 11:00am-12:00pm

All youth volunteers must attend training Sunday, June 7th at 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served.

Participate in Bear Creek Youth’s Envelope Fundraiser

Want to support the youth and help make a difference in our community? Grab an envelope between services Sunday, April 19, in the Courtyard and buy “stock” in our students! Envelopes are numbered 1-200. If you take the #36 envelope, give $36. If you take the #149 envelope, give $149. It’s that easy!

Fundraiser participants will be invited to a special dinner at the beginning of the school year, where they will be able to hear from our students about how their summer trips and activities impacted their lives and what they’re looking forward to in the new school year. In addition, all participants will receive notes from our students who attend trips this summer as well as emails with photos and videos while they are away. What a great way to stay connected to our youth as they grow in their faith and serve others!

Please return the envelopes with your gift (and the enclosed information slip, completed) to the offering plate or the church office.
